The Known World
The known world to most people in the Ancient World Campaign stretches from the Trade Sea in the west to the Zagros Mountains in the east, and from the Taurus Mountains in the north to the Arabian Desert in the south. Inhabitants of the region have no special word for the area within these boundaries, but most people would have heard of the major peoples, nations, and geographical features therein from merchants.
Merchants themselves are likely to be aware of a slightly broader region, including parts of the Trade Sea connected by Cana’an colonies, the Hellan (Greek) and Anatolian peninsulas, Wadjet (Lower Egypt) delta, Red Sea, Eladrin Gulf (Persian Gulf), and various Arabian oases. Lands beyond the Elamite city of Susa are rarely known to westerners, as the Eladrin control their borders carefully.
